Put SnakeBytes on TV Blog episode 2
Blog episode 2
It is post-SuperBowl Monday, the seventh of February. In this world of reptiles, rodents are rather important to us, and even more important to our scaled friends. Arguably the most famous rodent has decided we will be seeing the spring in no time at all. Winter has its beautiful sights and snow-powered extreme sports, but nothing quite compares to the smells of a fresh spring season.
Last week's blog was founded by several topics that needed to be shared. Today's blog is founded by last week's blog, but last week's blog covered pretty much everything.
Firstly, the blog spoke of the FaceBook page insights. How the page had only 2 likes that day. Since then, every day this week, the likes have been at least ten. Perhaps the blog post worked then? <-- "Barczyk Question Mark"
I believe we surpassed the 2,600 mark the very next day. That alone is an awesome accomplishment. It's an accomplishment that is owed directly to you and you and you. And you. Congratulations!
In last week's blog... I've used this phrase so many times, I think I'll give it an acronym. In LWB I urged all 2,600 of you to comment, message, or otherwise contact me with your thoughts, concerns, questions, tips, and suggestions. I did not receive 2,600 messages. In fact, I did not receive even ten messages. Lack of feedback causes me to believe two things. Either no one cares, or this is not a very efficient way of generating responses.
I would like to take this portion of the blog to discuss how important feedback can be. This page is all about the people. Even if that does sound a bit cliche, it isn't. PSBoTV is all about the reptile community rallying together to accomplish something big. By now you know how important television will be for us all. We need it for the legislation. We need it to educate. I can literally say that we NEED TV. You have heard Brian say it. You've heard me go on and on about it. We need it in order for our way of life to continue. Without it, things could take a very bad turn for the community of reptile enthusiasts. Brian has been working towards television for years. His production company and he have made big strides this year, and they grow closer and closer to a deal, but you guys can really make a difference!
With the right method, we can make things happen. If our voices are made heard we can expedite the process. If you think racing to a TV deal is unnecessary and that we should just take our time, you need to speak with someone who can help you fully grasp the urgency of the anti-herp legislations. The sooner TV is achieved, the better. Much, much better.
At this point, the reptile community's status is chaotically spiraling downward into the abyss. You have all heard about the recent news with the death of Mr. Westbrook in Tennessee, and the critical condition of a man in New Jersey, both due to venomous snakes. We are approaching a point when a TV show might not make a difference, and it might be too late. We need to make a difference, before it's too late.
If you have a thought, I don't even care if it's a good thought, I want to hear it. If you have questions, ask them! If you have a tip, or hint about someone or some place that might be helpful to making our voices heard, tell me! I know you all love SnakeBytes. I know you all love reptiles. Don't you want to be one of the deciding factors that benefits both of those things? Do not be afraid to speak out about something. This page is about you anyways. You're in charge. Let's make things happen!
Today is Monday, and I will be leaving Wednesday for the NARBC show this weekend in Arlington, Texas. Even though things were looking quite dubious for Brian to even make this show, he worked it out and will be attending. Brian will be coming to the show alone. Lori will be too busy being the best person in the world. I'll be traveling to Texas with Brian, and since it's a 20 or so hour drive, I'll be fielding questions from the page to ask Brian directly. Be thinking about the deepest, most intellectual questions you can muster for Brian's infinite snake wisdom. Or just think about something really goofy to ask him. I'll make posts from the road as to how to submit your questions. It will most likely be as easy as commenting on a status or writing on the wall.
It seems like the White Plains show was just yesterday, and I feel slightly bad. When I started this page, I envisioned myself being able to bring you a behind the scenes look at the Reptile Show adventures that Brian and myself embark on. Usually, when the show starts, I become too caught up in the snake selling to think about taking photos or video. This week, I'll try to assign one of my PSBoTV crew members to recording video and taking photos. My normal event photographer is not able to join us during out of state shows, unfortunately. Hopefully I can bring you a photo album, a video, or both of a good look at how things go for Brian and the PSBoTV team during shows. I hope it will adequately entertain you!
If you plan on attending the show, please stop by the BHB booth, you can't miss the banner, and ask for Kaleb. That is, when you're done talking to Brian. Please feel free to talk to me about your thoughts on the page and anything else that floats through your mind during our conversation. I can't wait to speak with you!
Here is a link to my FB profile. Feel free to add me, I accept all requests. Write on my wall, or message me if you have any questions or thoughts.
Here is my cell-phone number. Feel free to call, or text with any comments or concerns. I'll do my best to answer your call. Please leave a message if I do not answer right a way, and I will get back to you as soon as possible. I usually respond to texts immediately.
